Revive and Personalize Your Denim (Sundays 2-4pm)
3-Part Workshop
DATES: 2/2, 2/9, 2/16
Class Description:
In this hands-on workshop, participants will bring a pair of jeans to transform using custom digitally printed fabric panels featuring the artwork of artist Tremain Smith. Whether you want to expand the size of your jeans for a better fit or to add a pop of color and artistic flair, this workshop offers a perfect blend of practicality and creativity.
Medium and Techniques: Participants will work with denim and digitally printed fabrics, exploring techniques such as cutting fabric, measuring and sewing side seams, and incorporating personalized elements into everyday jeans. Sarah Tremain printed denim panels will be provided in either straight-leg or flared designs or if participants want to use unprinted denim, panels of blue denim will be available as well. During the workshop, everyone will learn how to attach securely to the side seams of their jeans using basic sewing techniques. A sewing machine demo will start the session for anyone who needs one or just a refresher on how to use them, as well as hands-on help throughout.
Workshop Purpose: This workshop is ideal for individuals seeking a sustainable and stylish way to breathe new life into their wardrobe. Whether upcycling old jeans to fit your body better or looking to add a statement piece to your closet, this workshop empowers participants to embrace creativity while enhancing their sewing skills. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a pair of customized jeans that fit you better and showcase artistic elements that reflect your style.
