Sew A Plush Flower Bouquet (Wednesdays 6-8pm)
2-Part Workshop
DATES: 2/5 & 2/12
Class Description:
Sew your own plush flower bouquet! Learn some sewing skills and make something you can keep forever, for a loved one or yourself! During this workshop, students will be led through the entire process of making plush flowers, from creating their own pattern pieces, to stuffing the flowers and closing them up. This will provide great hands-on experience with up-cycling and the process of sewing something from start to finish. Once the flowers are completed, we can tie/wrap them with cute bows/adornments so that they look like bouquets! The idea is for each participant to make at least a couple flowers each so that they can have their little bundle. Another option for a finished product is to stuff the flowers with catnip and make cat toys. This shows the versatility of sewn products and the use you can make out of fabric scraps.
Teacher Info:
Zoe Grubbs is a Philadelphia-based sewist, embroiderer and textile artist originally from Pittsburgh, PA. Dedicated to sustainable creative practices, she creates apparel and accessories from secondhand textiles and upcycles already existing garments using embroidery or sewing.
