Paint Your Pet - Oil Portraits for Beginners (6-8pm)

Class Description:
Celebrate your beloved companion in oil paint! This beginner-friendly course guides students through the creation of a one-of-a-kind pet portrait using traditional oil painting techniques. Students will work from a printed photo of their pet and use transfer paper to capture the likeness easily—no drawing experience necessary.
You’ll learn to mix accurate colors, render fur textures, and build your painting in layers. We’ll end with a BYOB celebration and toast as we share our finished pieces with the group!

Jo Gamel is a multidisciplinary teaching artist and published author who has taught at Moore College of Art & Design, the Free Library of Philadelphia, and the Arts League. Her fine artwork has been exhibited internationally, at the Louvre Museum and the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. She brings a passion for storytelling, community-building, and accessible creative practice to every classroom.
