Expressive Realism in Figure Drawing (Sundays 4-6pm)
WINTER SESSION: JANUARY 6 - FEBRUARY 23
Class Description:
This course combines drawing from the live model with brief, easy-to-understand lectures on anatomy. Each session will include a combination of long and short poses. Attention will be given to proportion, the structure of bones and muscles, capturing a likeness, and emphatic gesture drawings. Students will develop a deep understanding of how the body works while they practice drawing with assertion and feeling.
Teacher Info:
I’m an illustrator captivated by the human experience, which I express with humor and sensitivity using oil paint, charcoal, and silkscreen. Community is a major part of my art making, and my colleagues and I host regular open studios, sketch nights and zine fairs. My fine arts education began as a teenager at the Art Students League and has continued well beyond my BFA from Alfred University. I was awarded a Fellowship by the Soapbox Print Studio and have been teaching for the past year.
