Recycled Weaving Exploration (Thursdays 10am - 12pm) spring
SPRING SESSION: MARCH 2 - APRIL 19
Class Description:
This class is a perfect introduction for students who have an interest in weaving and fiber arts. The class will establish a strong foundation, with students learning how to make a variety of frames for weaving, mastering basic patterns, and other weaving techniques. Students will have access to a variety of materials, ranging from traditional yarn to more unconventional materials such as fibers made of recyclable packing. They will end up will a small weaving by the end of this class.

Elena Gans-Pfister is a fiber sculptor and installation-based artist. EG-P’s artwork is informed by micro and marine biology, with liking the concept of taking the micro and blowing it up to the macro. Gans-Pfister was raised learning a variety of hand-fiber processes, which include, but are not limited to: cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and much more. These are the tools used to create EG-P’s bold and expressive work.
