Mixed-Media Journaling (Mondays 6-8pm)

$250.00

FALL SESSION: OCTOBER 14-DECEMBER 8

(No classes the week of Thanksgiving)

Class Description:

This class will create a meditative space to reflect on the week, through journaling! Whether you need to vent, chill, release, etc. come join this class to get into your body and out of your head for a little. We will learn how to process our experiences through both individual and collaborative writing activities. This class is for people who journal regularly, people who would like to do it more consistently, and for those of us who have not started yet. We will make our own journals using composition notebooks while learning about different techniques and ways we can use our journal to process our experiences.

Teacher Info:

I’m Kate Welbes, a West Philly based artist & teacher. I create to speak to, center, heal, and transform the dislocation that has been built in our bodies to re-envision home. At the center of my practice is my writing —- and this expands into painting, experimental film & clothing design. My work is both very vulnerable and collaborative, as I believe transforming home is a process that must happen within community. This process involves contextualizing our personal experience within oppressive systems and calling attention to its influence in our body, psyches, relationships & communities.
