See your young artist thrive in our youth programs! Students will explore a variety of visual, sculptural, and mixed-media arts throughout the year. Each day features different themes led by our team of teaching artists. We are unable to offer full-ride scholarships at this time. If you are in need of a payment plan, please contact our Programs Coordinator at programs@theartsleague.org.
Students are introduced to a variety of visual and performing arts mediums taught by established practicing artists. The program follows a project-based classroom structure, culminating in a student exhibition and showcase.
Please complete the Student Information Form before your child begins after school care with us.
Daily Themes—
Monday: Fiber Arts (fashion, costumes, sewing)
Tuesday: 3D Art (sculpture, ceramics, architecture)
Wednesday: Drawing (comics, illustrations, still life)
Thursday: Mixed Media (dioramas, collage, nature)
Friday: Stage Crew (writing, sets, performance)
One Day per week $250/month

Eva Samuels
Eva is a Brazilian, Jewish-American mixed-media artist born in South Florida bringing whimsy and unrestrained exploration of form to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her creative journey is shaped by themes of childlike wonder guided by classic principles instilled throughout her completion of a BFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Eva’s reimagining of the bounds of reality is depicted across 2D and 3D mediums, with materials ranging from bronze to clay to pastels all portraying a careful dance between rawness and refinement.

Henry Murphy
Henry Murphy is a painter living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned a BFA and a Painting Certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he was awarded a Von Hess Memorial Travel Scholarship. Murphy paints primarily from direct observation but also implements principles from classical landscape traditions, folk art, and pre-photography sources. He has exhibited at Gross McCleaf Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Cerulean Arts, Philadelphia, PA; Biz 187, Larchmont, NY; Van der Plas Gallery, New York, NY; Spring Break Art Show, New York, NY; and Stellarhighway, Brooklyn, NY.

Jacob Davidson
Jacob is a painter in Philadelphia. His work has been shown in galleries locally and internationally.
He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI in 2023.
His work is grounded in observational painting. He draws on observation of natural growth, ecological relationships, and memories; transmuting the literal into esoteric symbols, abstractions, and fables.
He has led workshops and taught arts at various schools and community centers for a range of students from children to adults over the past 5 years.

Catherine Epps
Catherine is a versatile, award-winning illustrator with extensive experience creating art for clients. She specializes in sequential art, character design, storyboarding, animation, children’s book illustration, and concept art.
Although she often employs a whimsical and colorful style, Catherine is not afraid to branch out with new concepts, stylizations and mediums.

Beatrice Quinn
Beatrice "Benny" Quinn is a Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary composer, performer, and writer from Minnesota. She attended St. Olaf College from 2016-20 with the independent major, "Film Writing: Script & Score." They attended NYU Tisch from 2020-22 in Cycle 31 of the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. Formative credits include performing original work at 54 Below (Work in Progress), an off-Broadway writer/director debut at the Chain Theater, and music directing the Philadelphia premiere of "Fellowship!" the Fellowship of the Ring parody musical.

For our After School program, we are available to pick up from Penn Alexander or Lea Elementary. For all other schools, students need to be dropped off by at parent or guardian between 3-4pm at The Arts League.

Fourth and fifth graders can walk themselves from school to TAL, and home at the end of the day. They must have written permission from their parent or guardian. Please email program@theartsleague.org to arrange this.

The designated pick up window is 5:15-6PM, but parents are welcome to pick up their child at any time.

Participants must currently be in grades K to 5th grade.

Snack is served at 4PM. If a student gets dropped off later during the day, they can still receive snack. We partner with Nutritional Development Services who provides the snacks free of charge. If your child has any dietary restrictions please let us know.
