Comparative Anatomy for Artists (Saturdays 10am-12pm)
WINTER SESSION: JANUARY 6 - FEBRUARY 23
Class Description:
Artists who wish to improve their ability to represent animals in their work and gain a better understanding of anatomy will enjoy this fun and informal exploration of the topic. Discussion and drawing exercises will investigate the skeletal and muscular anatomy of vertebrates as well as notable surface structures (fur, feathers, scales, etc). Sessions will be held both in classroom and as "field trips" to the Wagner Museum and Philadelphia Zoo.

John Ryan is sculptor, puppeteer, illustrator and amateur naturalist currently based in Philadelphia. He has toured with the nationally recognized Catskill Puppet Theater for many years and is a founding member of Thought Alarm Theater. John has taught classes through Hartwick College, The Upper Catskill Community Center of the Arts and various other organizations
